Show October Who’s The Boss With Beauty Box 5

We’re halfway through October so it’s time for our Beauty Box 5 to arrive! October’s theme is ‘Girl Boss’. Take a break from talking politics & let’s talk beauty.

Beauty Box 5 makes it easy to stay up on new beauty trends. Each month, for $12, 5 new, new-to-you, or even fantastic favorites are delivered via USPS. Try them. Love them or leave them. But, for savvy consumers it’s an incredibly economical way to shop. More often than not, BB5 even includes 2 or more full-sized products. When all the full-sized MSRPs are added together, it’s amazing how much money you’ll have saved. After trying the products, you’ll be able to make a fully informed decision as to whether or not you’d like to invest in buying more. BB5 usually adds a coupon towards purchasing them as well.

This month our favorite subscription service delivers 4 full-sized beauty finds. Only, one of the companies showcased was familiar to me. That one would be Chella. Their ‘Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil’ serves 3 separate beauty tasks. Sculpting brows, liplining, and brightening eyes can all be accomplished with one pencil. I only tried to with brightening. It did it’s job although I can’t speak to its sculpting or lining. Being that it’s a 3-in-1 may explain the $18 price. We receive it in its full size, but, despite it’s multi-tasking, the price is a bit steep to me. img_0290

Full-sized product #2 is ‘Moisturizing Lipstick’ from Real Her. Described by BB5 as a mix of gloss & matte, I found it easy to apply and it goes on smoothly. Although I enjoyed the color I was sent, I can’t attest to its lasting power. I definitely would need to reapply throughout the day. It has an MSRP of $18 which isn’t unheard of, but for those of us who don’t do lipstick everyday, I feel that’s steep. If you can swing it, the colors are beautiful.

Amlactin is a new-to-me company. I was pleased with their ‘ULTRA Hydrating Body Cream’. We receive it in its full-sized glory as well. Applied twice a day, per package directions, it soothes & exfoliates skin including skin suffering from Keratosis Pilaris. With an MSRP of $2.99, I feel it’s a good buy and a good choice with winter on its way.

Feel like doing an at-home mani? Emery + Ivory’s Custom Nail Appliques may be a needed addition. I agree with their description that they are easy to apply. I definitely neglect my nail care so folks like me will find them a better option than using acrylics or multiple coats of polish. They have an MSRP of $12.99 which is significantly less than a salon mani. Their ease of use if definitely a huge plus in my book.

Finally, we have Color Me’s ‘Femme Gold or Red’. One of these two fragrances will be in your box. Gold is fruity while red is more floral. If you’re in the market for a new fragrance then you may be in luck. I disliked the fragrance. To me, it had an overpowering scent. That’s just personal preference. You may love it. The MRSP of $10 is just fine, but I wouldn’t purchase it for myself.

$61.98 is the total amount of the items for October. The fragrance was the only item not full-sized. So, if you went shopping, saw these items & decided to try them, that would be your total. $12 sounds much better doesn’t it? Plus, that isn’t counting parking, gas, aggravating stores, etc. I’d rather use Beauty Box 5!

Don’t miss out on November’s box! Visit to find ordering info & full product info. You might consider BB5 for a Christmas gift. It’d great for Secret Santa or a beauty fan’s stocking.

*I received the aforementioned products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
