Maple Syrup Murder: Grace Lemon

Oh Fudge! Cozy Mystery Series Book 1

Perhaps there’s no ‘sweeter’ way to die than facedown in maple syrup. But corny cliches will have to wait when Mr. Snellbottom, local maple syrup reviewer, is found dead. It seems he found himself in a sticky situation while reviewing Maura Sweeney’s Sugar Bush.

Ida Noe, local fudge shop owner, has known Maura since they were young & can’t believe that she is the number one suspect. Despite warnings from the police, Ida decides to clear up this mess for Maura’s sake.
Believe it or not, there’s no shortage of suspects. With her pet lab beside her, Ida is set to take the case.
‘Maple Syrup Murder’ may be a very short book with a cutesy title. Don’t let that fool you. It is an adorable cozy mystery filled with personality & a lot of sweets. Ida is a feisty, senior with a ton of sass. I love her. She may give the police a bit of a run for their money a times, but she still-mostly- stays within the confines of the law.
Between her zinging one-liners and her quick wit, she made me a fan of the series. You can definitely read this one in one sitting. I give it 4 stars and will look for the next one, too.
