Fabulous Fall Finds From Beauty Box 5

img_0255Raise your hand if you can NOT belive we’re halfway through September! Unbelievable, isn’t it? But, here we are. School is in full swing and we’re 54 days from the Presidential Election. If you haven’t had a minute to sit down yet, you aren’t alone. But, it’s a good time to pull up a chair because our September Beauty Box has arrived.
USPS has delivered our little box of joy! September’s theme is ‘Staff Picks’. I’ll tell you ahead of time that the staff did a pretty darn good job, too. Just in case you haven’t been acquainted with Beauty Box 5 yet, I’ll give you some background.
BB5 is a monthly, subscription service. Each month your friendly neighborhood mail carrier will deliver your box. Inside are 5 new, new-to-you, or even a few old faves. Skincare, haircare, and or make-up are included. Many times, including this month, they throw in some awesome coupons. Subscriptions begin at $12 a month. It is ALWAYS worth it and often, they include some full-sized products. This month there are 2 full-sized products. Let’s take a peek:

First up, we have a new-to-me product: Go Smile’s ‘Teeth Whitening Gel’. Whitening products for teeth are advertised everywhere. Go Smile was a company I wasn’t familiar with, but unlike so many competitors products, this one is quick to us. Add it onto a dry toothbrush along with your regular toothpaste. Use it for 2 minutes, 2 times a day. Full disclosure: I don’t know that I had enough time to draw a fair conclusion on how well it works. It has an MSRP of $29. I will reserves judgement in the issue of fairness.

Simple Skincare’s ‘Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes’ are a product that I have used before now. You can’t get much simpler than a single cloth to remove makeup & hydrate skin. I first used these years ago when I worked midnight shifts as a retail manager. Many times, they saved the day for my skin when I was too tired for a long, skincare ordeal. Their MSRp is $5.99 & I fully believe they are worth it.

Pur-lisse is not a new-to-me company; however, their ‘Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30’ is new. Two things I appreciate about this one are 1.) the SPF 30 and 2.) its lightweight consistency. I’ll be honest: I never remember sunscreen on a daily basis. In fact, I never remember it unless we are doing an outdoor activity. Thankfully, my foundation contains an SPF and I seek out moisturizers that do, too. I also despise moisturizer that feels like old school ‘cold cream’. Remember that? This moisturizer is super light and absorbs quickly. Unfortunately, it has an MSRP of $55 which is out of reach for me.

Happy Brands ‘Happy Hair Turban’ is simply fun. Twist, loop, done! I think it’s adorable. It’s difficult to walk around with an enormous bath towel wrapped around your head (especially if you have balance issues like I do!). It’s, obviously, our first full-sized product for September. It’s gentle on your hair and doesn’t feel like a tight, 19880s scrunchie. It’s a winner in my book.

Finishing up our Fall 5 is the second full-sized product. Be A Bombshell brings us its ‘Smooth Criminal HD Finishing Powder’. With an MSRP of $7 it takes the place of heavy, messier face powders. Although it comes in a small jar with a bright white color, it goes on colorless, Great for any skin, any shade, it’s easily applied with a typical make-up brish. I thought it was great. It’s very smooth & you really can’t feel it.

Treat yourself to a little Fall present. Visit http://www.beautybox5.com & place your order. You can find out more about the products in this month’s box as well.

*I received the aforementioned products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
