Happy New Year! If one of your resolutions was to take better care of yourself, then Beauty Box 5 is a great place to start. For $12 per month, our favorite subscription service delivers 5 products to your mailbox every month. It’s a great gift to you! Plus, the amount of all 5 products, full size, far exceeds the $12 per month. In fact, if another of your resolutions is to save your hard-earned money, BB5 fits in there, too! Bonus!
Let’s take a closer look at the first delivery of 2016.
We’ve all heard how we never get a second chance to make a first impression. When the world sees us, our hair & nails are always front & center. So, it’s only fitting that we start this year with a January box dedicated to hair & nails. An added plus is that 3 of the 5 products included are in their full size. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice we have 6, yes 6, products total this month: 3 hair & 3 nails. Beauty Box 5 knows how to spoil us, don’t they? 🙂
I’ll say upfront that I loved all three hair products. Novex has sent us ‘Bamboo Sprout Deep Conditioning Treatment’. Now, I had a small issue with the packaging. Granted, I’m fluent enough in Spanish to get by; however, 99% of the package directions are in Spanish. Relying on my prior knowledge, I figured out how long to leave it in & whatnot. If Spanish is not your native tongue, Google it! I’ll help you cheat a bit: leave it on for about 15 minutes after applying from the middle of your hair to the ends. There is definitely something to the formula. My hair was noticeably softer. Fly away pieces that I usually have that make it look like I rubbed a balloon over my hair (oh, come on, we’ve ALL done that), were gone. However, the MSRP of $14.99 is a bit staggering for my budget at the moment. It definitely works & if it’s in your budget, rock it.
‘Not Your Mothers’ is a company I came to know when I won some of their products in a sweep. I was impressed then & still am. ‘Plump For Joy’ is a thickening lifter for your locks. Use it on wet or dry hair. Without a doubt, it adds big flair to hair. The scent is phenomenal. For an MSRP of $7, it’s a definite addition to this year’s regular line-up.
Finally, Salon Grafix presents its hair spray. With a hold number of 10, it’s equipped to take on windy January like a boss. Over the years, I’ve had very little luck with hair sprays. My hair is just too fine to contain. But, I’ll admit, that Salon Grafix made a difference & my hair did stay put. The MSRP is $6.99, a little much for spray, but it definitely does its job.
Wrapping isn’t just for holidays. ‘Scratch’ adds its Custom Nail Wraps to the mix. Dry Polish gets a kick when you add on the patterned wraps. Sealing with a top coat is recommended. Women lucky enough to have long, healthy nails will benefit from them. My lack of nail growth & constant breakage make them a pipe dream for me. They’re cute though. With an MSRP of $6, they make an economical home mani a little more luxurious.
‘Nails Inc.’ sends us a full-sized version of their polish. Mine came in a color titled ‘Sloane Mews’. Numbered, it’s 4211. Less creatively, I call it ‘Plum’. Darker hues are in this season & I love them, especially the reds. ‘Sloane Mews’ with its MSRP of $9.99 is a pass for me. I’d have chosen a deep red, but can find a more affordable option. I wasn’t impressed with its wear time either. It chipped on day 2- after 2 full coats.
In PA, winter weather can be a dastardly foe. Wind chills deep in the negatives & skin suffers. ‘Bodipure’ Keratin gloves is a great solution for the skin on your hands. When even the coziest mittens won’t do & skin feels sore, these are the perfect fit. Not only do they add moisture but strengthen nails & help cuticles. After slipping them on, massage your hands. Add a good book & hot chocolate & voila! (OK, the last part is all me & doesn’t appear on package directions- But, it should!) AN MSRP of $5 gives a warm, fuzzy feeling too. Nice price for nice hands.
January can stay dismal as long as we can look good! Treat yourself to some pampering. You know you SO deserve it. Visit http://www.beautybox5.com for full product info & ordering information. Add up the prices & see how much you’ll save. No trips to the store. We had enough of shopping during the holidays anyway. Your experience may differ from mine.
