Whether you know him from his many appearances on “The Tonight Show”, his uproarious stand-up, his decades on TV from “The Dick Van Dyke Show” to the ’70s-era Navy sitcom CPO SHARKEY or his turn as Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story trilogy, Rickles is Hollywood royalty. And MR. WARMTH! DON RICKLES: THE ULTIMATE TV COLLECTION, captures the legend at the peak of his powers.
This 8-disc DVD set featuring nearly 20 hours of some of Rickles’ finest on-screen moments, contains his four ’70s comedy specials – “The Many Sides of Don Rickles”, “Don Rickles: Alive and Kicking”, “Mr. Warmth” and “Rickles” – which highlights his expansive talents, and showcase a who’s who of 20th century Hollywood icons including Frank Sinatra John Wayne, Johnny Carson, Jack Klugman, Dean Martin, Bob Newhart, Carroll O’Connor and many, many more. Also included are both complete seasons (37 half-hour episodes) of CPO SHARKEY, previously unavailable on any format until their 2015 DVD release by Time Life. Exclusive bonus features on the set include newly-shot intros from Don himself, never-before-seen outtakes and unedited scenes and more!
Harkening back to a time, pre-Internet, when celebrities hit it big because of talent, not Twitter, the inimitable Rickles has enjoyed a legendary showbiz career that has touched seven decades and still continues today. For six seasons, The Wonder Years captured the angst of growing up in suburban middle-class America in the late ’60s, as seen through the life and times of Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage). Audiences eagerly followed his evolution as a typical awkward teenager who remembered every moment of his transition from childhood with excruciating detail and remarkable hindsight. From his first kiss with Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) to his friendship with Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano) and the ups and downs of the Arnold family, fans shared in laughter, love, and loss, but above all, wonder. Now, the complete landmark series is available for the first time at retail in two deluxe collector’s editions that contain all 115 episodes across 26 DVDs, along with over 23 hours of bonus features, which includes exclusive new interviews with the entire cast, the first cast reunion in more than 16 years, 11 newly-produced featurettes and much more!
If you’ve not yet experienced the wonders of THE WONDER YEARS, this holiday season is as good a time as any to acquaint yourself with the groundbreaking family sitcom named by TV Guide as one of the “Top 20 Shows of the ’80s”.

Time Life has been bringing us quality entertainment for as long as I can remember (& before). These 2 DVD Collections in particular bring up terrific memories for me. ‘The Wonder Years’ was a mainstay on our television. My dad adored this show & was happy to sing along with the theme song every time it came on. Honestly, I don’t think he ever missed an episode.
Now that he’s passed away, memories of watching ‘The Wonder Years’ with him hold even more meaning. I am thrilled that Time Life not only offers the DVDs, but the ENTIRE collection, all episodes, for me to share with my kids. I can add little tidbits here & there about Dad’s favorite episodes & remind them of Pappy’s great sense of humor. That’s the beauty of having Classic Television available on DVD.
Keeping a family connection, my mom has mentioned Don Rickles more times than I can count. She quoted jokes he’d made & remembers his appearances on The Tonight Show. When I showed her this Collection, she that it was ‘very cool’. I’d never had the opportunity to watch his work for myself- until now. It provides us with an opportunity to connect her memories with new family memories. He is truly just as brilliant as she said he was then.
Whether you’re a child of the ’70s/’80s or a Millenial, Classic Television never disappoints. It takes us all back to a day when quality t.v. mattered, actors took their work seriously, & good, clean fun abounded. If you remember watching with your parents, do your family a favor & pick up these Time Life Collections. Share memories with your kids to pass on to theirs.
