NIV Proclamation Bible Correctly Handling the Word of Truth Published by Zondervan

_225_350_Book.1496.coverPublished by Zondervan, authored by The Holy Spirit, we have  the NIV Proclamation Bible. NIV stands for New International Version. It’s been my experience that NIV is definitely easier to read & absorb than the King James’ version. This is mostly because we use entirely different ways of using wording than they did in James’ day. Many folks stand by their KJV versions, but especially when it comes to youth, NIV has become the preferred version.

Regardless of your personal stance on that topic, God’s inerrant Word is what it is-  inerrant. What helps in chosing a Bible is to take into account what type of Bible study will be done. In the case of this particular Bible, Zondervan provides the following:

– “Sixty-five expert Bible teachers have contributed to the NIV Proclamation Bible including Christopher Ash, Graham Beynon, Gerald Bray, Simon Gathercole, David Jackman, Karen Jobes, Dick Lucas, Douglas Moo, Peter O’Brien, Vaughan Roberts, William Taylor, and Chris Wright.”

– ” a wealth of additional material from leading theologians, pastors, and Bible teachers to enhance your study of the word. The Bible features ten introductory essays on theology, doctrine and the application and interpretation of Scripture, as well as detailed overviews of each literary genre in the Bible-from the historical narratives to the apocalyptic literature. It also features introductions to every Bible book.”

Personally, I love the material included from theologians, etc. At times, these tidbits can make a substantial difference in a reader’s own understanding. These materials can also be valuable when teaching, as in a homeschool setting, in order to better explain a passage or doctrine.

I found this particular Bible very easy to navigate & that the additional materials make it a welcome addition to a reader’s library.
