Time to emerge from hibernation! Spring has sprung. Officially, the first day of spring is on Friday, but there’s nothing wrong with being prepared. Of course, most of us will do a little (or a lot) of spring cleaning so why not go through that make-up bag or drawer, too? To get us started in the right beauty direction, Beauty Box 5 has delivered its March Box.
For those unfamiliar, Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service. Each month, via postal mail, a box containing 5 new-to-you or newly marketed products. For $12 per month, you can try new things, colors, & looks before you make the investment in the full-sized product. On the info card included in the box, you can see the full sie price. Add it all up & you’ll see for yourself that Beauty Box 5 is economically smart. Their $12 price tag trumps the MSRPs of all the items.
Let’s take a look at what March has brought to us.
First up, we have Eslor’s Introductory Collection. This is one that has appeared in the box before, but this time it’s a Second Edition. Focusing on their HPT System, they’ve sent along 4 separate samples. Tucked into a little pouch are a Soothing Refiner & Cleanser, a Botanical Peeling Gel, Chlorophyll Lifting Mask, & Firming Collagen Day Cream. Eslor’s Collection begins with a MSRP of $28 & up. I will say it’s very gentle plus it’s paraben-free. I can’t say I saw a huge difference. I’d need to use it more than the sample to say definitively.
Nanacoco does double duty this month. Two of their finest are included. ‘Scandalous’ seems to be the It word for eyes these days & Nanacoco’s thickening mascara sports this name as well. I like the flexible ball brush for littler lashes plus mine came in ‘Very Black’, my color of choice. I’m a fan of this one & it’s $4.99 MSRP. ‘Laugh Out Loud’ Lip Gloss is a fun product to use. It kind of brings back memories of touching up tinted gloss in high school. If you have a serious lip gloss addiction, get your wallet ready. You’ll fall for LOL. At first, I thought that the color- Cherry Blossom- would be a bit too wild for me, but it went on nicely. I give it a thumbs up too. MSRP is $3.99.
Styli-Style’s Line & Seal Twist Mechanical Eye Liner was a slight disappointment. For my box, I got the liner in ‘Raisin’. Although it did deliver the smooth line as promised, the color wasn’t what I’d have chosen. Without shadow, it seems a bit lost on my lid. Twist-up liners also have a tendency to break- no matter what brand you try. Maybe it’s just me. I find they’re just too brittle. However, I’d give it another go with a darker color considering it’s MSRP is $4.99.
Number 5 of our 5 is Elite Therapeutics Rosemary Eucalyptus Body Cream. The best thing about this cream is its scent. It’s lovely. I’ll agree that it isn’t greasy which is good for this time of year. Everyone’s had it with heavy creams during the dead of winter. With a happy blend of Aloe Vera & organic oils, it’s a good, light Spring moisturizer. However, with a MSRP of $19, I will most likely stay with my usual picks.
For the most part, March delivered a winning group. For full product information, please visit http://www.beautybox5.com. A subscription to Beauty Box would make a great Easter gift.
I received the aforementioned products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
